Priorities
As a small business owner, long-time government relations consultant, and professional mediator, I want to ensure the Southside’s voice is heard in the City, County, and State decisions that impact our lives. From talking with so many of you, my priorities as a City Councilor will be to:
Increase affordable housing in a way that fits our community: Everyone wants affordable housing—the hard part is finding appropriate locations for affordable housing. The Zia Rail Runner project is a great example—39 new units in an area that can absorb affordable housing.
Equalize access to resources for Southside families: When Santa Fe goes to the State Legislature for capital outlay, we have to ensure the Southside gets its fair share. When it comes to City resources, that also means making sure our roads, parks, libraries, and senior centers are fully funded.
Create more reasons for young people to stay safe and find their future in Santa Fe: We have made great strides to create opportunities for young people but we have so much more to do. From recreation to job internships, we have to prove to our young people that Santa Fe is worth it.
I’ve been your advocate for the Southside for years, and I hope to continue doing so as your City Councilor. I hope you will join our campaign.
